The contractors opened gardens 7 and 8 in time for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, although there is still much planting to do. It's been a controversial scheme, which saw a dispute with the first contractors, which held up work for over a year. Then when the present contractors Breheny were appointed, the cost had nearly doubled, the council tax payers having to foot the increase. Mind you, the gardens are starting to look good and the parts of the gardens that are getting the most work done on them should be open later this year.
